Some goals for the next year.

Some may be curious as to why I'm posting these. I'm the queen of starting something and not finishing. It's a habit have had since I was a child and I don't want it anymore. I need accountability...I'm a slacker at times. I want to be a better example and witness and being a slacker doesn't necessarily help in those areas.

1. Grow closer to Christ. Sounds cheesy huh? Perhaps, but it's true. I want to know Him more and learn more about His character. Maddie really pushes me to desire that. Her thirst for knowledge in the Bible is so great. She loves Jesus and reads her Bible all the time. If a 5 year old can do that, why can't I as an adult? The Lord pursues me on a daily basis and I reject those pursuits time and time again. That's so silly and selfish of me. I want it from an earthly man but not from my Father in Heaven? That just doesn't add up. He's the one that is worth the time and effort. My focus needs to be on Him.

2. Lose weight. I want to be healthy and in shape. Yes, I DEFINITELY want to be thin but I do need to look out for my health too. I don't know what runs in my biological family and that's a little frightening. Plus, I've got 4 flipping weddings to go to over the next year(that's another blog topic in itself). One of which I am in...next April. I want to lose at least 80 lbs. 4 down...76 to go!!!! It won't be easy but it's HAS to happen.

3. Become more organized. With starting back to school I'll need it. I need an organized environment to study in and will have to keep up with more stuff from classes. This will cut down on stress levels tremendously! Again, another weak point but it will be a good thing to do.

There are many more but those are the 3 main ones for now. They are rather big ones but they are important. If you see me step out of line...pop me. I give you permission. Just don't tell Eric that ok?

Hey JennyBelle!

I'm so proud of you, and you know Jesus is too. We ALL have goals that we need to set, or that we are working on. Recognizing the need is the first step. But, you have the sweetest heart, and God sees that. I love that you desire for your relationship with Christ to grow!

Fret not (as Dewey said Sunday) about meeting your goals, commit them to HIM and he will give you the desires of his heart.

I love you and am here for you in any capacity....if there is any way I can help you with those goals, you just give me a holla (did that poor gangsta rap make you smile.....thought so)

Love you,
Shana

P.S. I super love your plans for school. You would make a great child psychologist or child life specialist......maybe God was shaping your decision these past two years without your even knowing it.

I think goals are awesome and even better when you can have accoutablitly. In my bible study just this morning, Beth Moore talked about how when King David removed himself from any accoutabilty, that is when he started to fall. I promise to be here for you, and I won't mention anything about popping you to Eric!

Hey Jenny, here's some college encouragement for you. Ken told me to tell you this. He didn't finish college until he was 27 and before that he got kicked out and had a GPA of O.7.(that's not a typo). After he committed his life to Christ, he went back and never made less than a 3.75. You can do it, girl. He left Dalton College after his associates degree with a 2.2 GPA. He made straight A's at Shorter(okay, maybe one or two b's)but his GPA was difficult to recover after all the F's.
Ken says "I'm living proof that God uses the thugs of life." Not saying your a thug, but saying that God can make the seemingly impossible possible. He also had a music teacher in high school chorus tell him to quit singing. It wasn't his thing. Crazy, but true.
love you sister,
Terri

So proud of you Jenny! You are an incredible individual and I am so glad that I met you. Can't wait to see how the year plays out for you. It already sounds like it is going to be incredible. Alot of great new things to come.

Confession: I hate sharing my goals because I don't like being held accountable thinking that I will fail. The Lord has really been working on this with me lately!

P.S. How is Mr. Winn-Dixie?
